This actor needed a "burned face" look.
I started with Mehron's "Extra Flesh" wax
(I like the soft texture over any other product)
to cover areas with hair
(didn't have to shave actor)
Over the wax (and skin) I sponged on a layer of
Mehron's "Liquid Latex"
as a base for the areas to be built up.
I then applied a single layer of tissue (toilet paper) to the wet latex. |

I added texture with alternating layers of latex and tissue.
I made a "pad" of tissue to cover his ear and the "veins" are just rolled tissue.
(an excellent source of knowledge (for design) is "Gray's
Anatomy" Google search).
I used a floor fan blowing directly on actor during this process (speeds drying).

I let the latex continue to dry for about 5 minutes
(giving the actor a cigarette break)
while I created a color pallet using
Mehron's Fantasy FX make-up.
I use the 1oz tubes and "dollop" the colors
onto a Styrofoam plate.
An excellent "cream" product that really does "go a long way".
I turned off the fan and started "painting"
using the lightest colors first.
I use a sponge applicator for all the "base" work.

The detail work I used several Mehron
Make-up Brushes
The advantage of using waterbase make-up is that it dries quickly.
The disadvantage is that it dries quickly!
Have a plan in your head, no time to "play" like you can with grease paint.
I then Finished the project with Mehron's Barrier spray.
Start to finish took about 45 minutes.
